204 extracted, but what would you advise for 304/404 as roots won't be fun to try to extract!
So SO glad you said that as that is what we advised doing versus wait to see what the experts advised. I'll post the post treatment xrays when I'm back in work, but cat is doing well.

Neither tooth was mobile as far as I am aware.(colleagues case, she rang ne for advice)

If it hadn't been for the pulp changes, both me and my colleague would have crown amputated with no questions, just wasn't sure how the pulp cavity changes would affect things. Antibiotics or not?

RE: Endodontic disease mandibular canines (feline)

I would be attempting to extract 304 - I think there is still quite a lot of tooth material present and the periodontal ligament is still evident around much of the root. If it turns out to be impossible to extract whole, I would be comfortable with removing as much as possible and closing over the flap.

404 I would probably crown amputate.

Both should be re-radiographed in a few months and the owner warned re possible complications.

EDIT: I hadn't read Norman's reply when I posted. He has loads more experience than me with these, so if crown amputation is good enough for him.....

RE: Endodontic disease mandibular canines (feline)

Your only real option is crown amputation as the resorption is too advanced to do much else. It is often worth trying percussion on canines to see if there is reaction. Clearly mobile teeth need work ASAP but when the apical third of a tooth only is involved ,the teeth can often be relatively pain free until it progresses further. Your teeth are worth treating now I think.
Create an envelope flap that allows decent access to the crestal bone. Amputate the crowns then take a round FG diamond and create a concavity. Rads will help at this point to see where you are. If the amputation looks good , smooth off the site with a bone rasp and suture closed tension free.
