I remember being taught pro-oestrus 3d-3wk, av 9d; oestrus 3d-3wk, av 9d; metoestrus

So if the owner is counting 'season' from start pro-oestrus, it could be that up to 6wks is 'normal' ?

RE: Persistent Season in a young Bitch

Do a progesterone test and see where she is in her season. Some females get stuck in the 1-2ng region for a long time which can be a failure of LH, in this case I would use Chorulon.

If progesterone is higher then it's not impossible to have ovarian cysts, we see about 2-3 females every year. You can ultrasound the ovaries!

Some very young females can have a "split season", they go up, then down and then up again and ovulate second time.

RE: Persistent Season in a young Bitch

Can Delvosteron be used instead of Ovarid? It can be used on the first day of a season as I recall to stop it in its tracks? Or check on the dose of LH for a dog perhaps?

Good luck, these cases can be tricky!
