Are they booked on line or via a receptionist- if latter then can’t they screen them and refuse to book them if not due- if booked on line on our system it’s obvious so you could get the receptionists to check bookings are actually due? It may be easy money, but if your already under pressure and stretched, surely doing very non urgent appointments is a silly?

That's what we have been doing, but folk seem to have gone into lockdown2 hysteria panic mode and we are inundated with them.

I think Clive might be becoming an anti-vaxxer.

If they've an appointment then I'd just jab it. Not that we're doing vaccines at the moment, but it's easy money minimal harm.

So, COVID aside, what if someone comes early? We've had people get confused by Bravecto reminders (and I am occasionally guilty of jabbing and only noticing when doing the card). I've done animals a number of months early to bring them into line with other pets. If they have an appointment, are here and want it done, I'll do it!

For us if not due in the next calendar month I’d be persuading them to wait. We still haven’t caught up with boosters from last lockdown although we are getting there. We are about a month behind on reminders but haven’t sent them yet this month as I’ve had to self isolate after being tracked and traced so we are a vet down. It always amazes me how many owners know when their dogs are due without a reminder - I would never remember.

The practice I am in certainly wouldn't be doing them early, and is cancelling anything that is only due this month. The books are still full so there is no risk of any empty appointments.
