Thanks Anthony - that's brilliant resource - never used and would certainly recommend another time (though the 10day+delivery and I don't think available locally would be a bit irritating perhaps).

In wet they have herring and potato or mackarel and potato. again cost bit of issue, but cheaper than the specific coming in at about £5.80 a day for this dog I reckon - that would be manageable for a 10 day trial, so will consider as an option if doing multiple diet trials wihtout success.

The other option to consider over a hydrolyzed diet if the dog doesn't eat it or it's not tolerated, is the sardine and sweet potato food by fish4dogs.

I've had a few dogs that I've put on z/d or anallergenic, but because the CHO source is potato they've been intolerant to that and it didn't help at all.

Had one dog that was exploding every couple of weeks and not being well on all different diets, is back to normal on the fish4dogs stuff

Brilliant! You're right and it's available locally and cheaper per tin (I haven't checked price per day as fed, i.e. compared kcals in various tins) than the other options I'd been looking at.

Will probably try this after 10 days or so on just D/D Salmon/rice if no signs of improvement in D+.

Have ordered some Hill's D/D Salmon/rice tins to try for next week.

Other locally available options I found were Hill's Z/D tins (hydrolysed) and Royal Canin Duck/rice tins.

Thanks Sara, cost aside that could be a great choice for this pup. Looks like can be gotten locally OK, but I make it from feeding guide would need 4 trays a day as 4-5month old 16kg+ pup, and that would be £8+ a day which is a steep ask even for a 10 days trial just. I'll keep that option in reserve. Never seen it before, so great to know is out there and available - thanks!
