Be sure you are supplementing appropriately. I would have a 3 or 4% bulb on in the daytime.

RE: Anorexic Gecko

Thanks both.

How many hours UV does a Leopard Gecko need? Im expecting some but not loads - that isn’t very specific.

RE: Anorexic Gecko

Hi Mark

You def need a proper husbandry review as a start.

22C is too low, you need to get to around 30 in the middle of the tank

Bath daily to. maintain hydration.

If the temps have been low for a while there may be some immunocompramise so some covering antibiotics would not hurt.

Consider syringe feeding and a faecal sample when one is available to check for parasites including crypto.

Yes a radiograph to check for impaction would be good.

Consider bloods if no improvement (video on my App)

Goodluck

RE: Anorexic Gecko

Hi Mark,
I've not been in practice for a whilte, so doing this from memory. How old is the gecko? Has it been wormed? Is the heating on all the time? (A few of my owners used to switch the heating off when they went to bed at night). Agree with temp check and addition of UV light but need short bursts of low level UV light for crepuscular speecies. I prefer gut loading than dustng to make sure they get the supplement. What supplement are they using? Vetark have loads of info. What's the fluid intake? Yes, could be impaction, so xray would be good. May need fluids. If it does pass something then faecal exam for endoparasites would also be helpful - probably not though if impaction. Hope that helps a bit :)
