For those seeverelyinflamed ears that cause a lot of discomfort, I used to dish out NSAIDs quite successfully. Not as effective as topical steroids down the ear but the dog's appreciated the pain relief based on reactions to follow-up examinations. Usually carprofen but meloxicam seemed just as potent. The Metacam being oral not down the ear of course! but then until now, I'd never thought of that route!!

I’m afraid not, I phoned again Friday and they said should be in this week so hopefully Monday. But that has gone and still not here!

Can I ask if the Cortacare is back in stock at your wholesalers? Ours still empty, but might just be a week or two behind.

Good to know, I do find a cortacare bottle a little unwieldy and tippy-over for a dog only getting a little syringe of 0.2ml in each ear twice weekly.. Might start decanting into smaller bottle for this purpose.

Still interested in any experience with mometasone also.

We have been to,d by wholesalers that Cortacare should be with us by the end of the week. So maybe you won’t need an alternative?
