Rather than the traditional trip from the scales thinking that Bertie was getting rather portly and the owner blaming everyone else for feeding him biscuits, the last 5 dogs on the scales have lost

RE: Weight Loss in dogs, a COVID side effect

They've gone in tandem with their owners. The ones who spent lockdown on the sofa with the O eating pizza and watching Netflix have gained weight. The ones whose owners have gone on a health kick and started walking and running have lost weight. Actually it's really nice...I've had quite a few middle aged chubby blokes gazing adoringly at their dog and proudly announcing their own weight loss and improving fitness and crediting it all to the dog for the lockdown walks. The university students came home early and walked the dogs as well. Plus, less guilt-food as substitute for attention.

RE: Weight Loss in dogs, a COVID side effect

My wife showed me a photo she'd taken of me on the Hurst Castle Spit last year, and again this year. It looks as if about 4kg has migrated north from my stomach, and now sits on my head (I've eaten less, but no haircut since January).

RE: Weight Loss in dogs, a COVID side effect

I've found almost universal weight increases - human and dogs!

RE: Weight Loss in dogs, a COVID side effect
Have you calibrated your scales lately?
Which is an interesting observation in itself as I routinely weigh myself on all the scales used at vet practices and in some places they have 2 scales, I rarely get the same answer. In some it's +/- 5kg from the previous day
