No sign of recurrence as yet. Removed grotty sutures today as some suture reaction. Fingers still crossed.

I would caution the owner though, that though it has a good chance of cure, you won’t know until it is done.

Hope this helps; kind regards

Oral plasmacytomas have low risk of metastasis but local control can be challenging; occasionally malignant or multiple plasmacytomas are described. Skeletal invasion is possible to at least oral radiographs would be helpful to tell you if a maxillectomy is needed.

An alternative would be marginal resection with adjuvant radiotherapy or electrochemotherapy or melphalan therapy or palliative therapy only (again radiotherapy, or electrochemotherapy, or melphalan).

Conservative surgery plus two fortnightly treatments with electrochemotherapy may be the most cost effective here with good long term control unless there is extensive bone invasion. I would run a full haematology and serum biochem just in case there is any abnormality there such as cytopenias or monoclonal gammopathy and yes probably check local lymph nodes but hopefully that will all return negative.
