That is what I have always believed (it might even have been you that told me!!)

During TPLO and TTA surgery, the osteotomy often goes right through this feature and on the few occasions I have looked, there has been a well circumscribed area of something looking and feeling like hyaline cartilage.

RE: Radiolucent lesion proximal tibia in patient with CCL rupture.

www.vetsurgeon.org/.../5661.Paek-et-al.-_2D00_-2013-_2D00_-Prevalence_2C00_-Association-with-Stifle-Conditions_2C00_-an.pdf Here's some info on this lucency for those interested.

RE: Radiolucent lesion proximal tibia in patient with CCL rupture.

Let us know what the repeat biochemistry says. If it's still not right then fair enough may be worth thinking about some follow-up testing of some sort.

I don't see anything that makes me think myeloma here.

Put into google images : "cruciate dog xray" and you get a reassuring number of pictures looking similar to this I think.

Always hardest with you own pets. Most recently I sedated my nervous rescue cat with medetomidine/butorphanol SC using an insulin needle at home (almost getting scrabbed in the process) before I was brave enough to microchip. I don't remember ever having such difficulty and taking such an approach with anyone else's cat. Oh, and I was so flustered I forgot to vaccinate him at the same time and still haven't gotten up the courage to tackle that - highly irrational.

RE: Radiolucent lesion proximal tibia in patient with CCL rupture.

The owner is me!
The radiolucnet hole punch on lateral in top of tibia cranially is a common finding I think - don't ask me eactly what, but somethiong to do with 3 separate ossification centres meeting there and a little bit in middle staying bit more cartilagenous perhaps?

Perhaps wait for another opinion before telling this to owner though in case I'm way off!

PS - I would repeat the biochemistry before thinking about it more - something smells fishy about those results, perhaps the Albumin of 39?

RE: Radiolucent lesion proximal tibia in patient with CCL rupture.
