Eating dirt/ stones the week prior. No apparent history of toxin access (food waste, recreational drugs etc). Had an Advocate on Monday, had this many times before, but vomiting started the day after - red herring?[/quote]

The vomiting doesn't fit, but with the weakness have you asked if they've fed him Primula cheese:

Any dog off lead has access to things, even in houses.

If the potassium is true, and no edta contamination, then not Addisons.

If HR remains persistently low, ECG. Otherwise sit on it with supportive tx and probably be fine.

RE: Vomiting, ataxic, middle aged dog

check temperature (i'm guessing it was normal!)
