In general instead for metronomic chemo we use cyclophosphamide (15 mg/m2 sid-eod) alongside frusemide (1 mg/kg) with each dose of cyclophosphamide and meloxicam. Pred is not generally part of metronomic protocols unless you are treating a lymphoma or mast cell tumour with chlorambucil for example. Hope this helps, if not ask more!

RE: Metronomic cyclophosphamide and meloxicam

The metronomic protocol I have used was cyclophosphamide with firocoxib. Mind you the last dog I gave it to developed hepatitis after about 4 months so she isn't getting any more!

RE: Metronomic cyclophosphamide and meloxicam

I imagine Gerry will be along again to correct me, but often the metronomic protocols recommend use of piroxicam with another agent, but meloxicam has a similar mode of action but with less side effects. I've seen many cases on both drugs.

Worth using once daily furosemide as well if wanting to start on cyclophosphamide (something else Gerry said on a recent thread about the drug).
