&lt;p&gt;Anyway: these are &lt;strong&gt;Howell-Jolly bodies&lt;/strong&gt; their significance is only that you don&amp;#39;t mistake them for Mycoplasma hemofelis or other pathogen and think they are the cause in an anemic cat etc. They are very commonly seen in cat blood smears.&lt;/p&gt;
