Arlo Guthrie something doesn't work though just so you know. tried 2 copmuters and if I clieck edit for my first post to try to chnage from "dog" to "cat", I get a vetsurgeon screen with no forum thread or post to edit.

Opps.. was a cat - apologies and I can't seem to edit it it now...

Anyway: these are Howell-Jolly bodies their significance is only that you don't mistake them for Mycoplasma hemofelis or other pathogen and think they are the cause in an anemic cat etc. They are very commonly seen in cat blood smears.
