Just wondering if anyone has any experience nebulising a dog with chronic rhinitis?
Yes, he has had rhinoscopy/serology/CT/nasal flush.
Does it work? What type of nebuliser?
Many thanks,

(0.1ml in 0.9ml saline) I’ve found it really useful in the chronic snufflers![/quote]

n=1, but I used it in one canine case. Did work initially. he dog then went on to inhaled fluticasone and did improve initially, but then we found aspegillus so had to stop (may have been underlying all along rather than causing it)

RE: Nebulising a dog with inflammatory rhinitis

Intranasal maropitant is something I have become aware of over the past 12months as well, but also have never used it.

RE: Nebulising a dog with inflammatory rhinitis

Nk-1 mediated inflammation may have a role in respiratory disease in dogs and cats, but there have been no conclusive studies showing effectiveness. One in dogs with bronchitis showed a client-reported reduction in cough frequency but no change in inflammatory cell levels in the respiratory tract.

People report some use in feline cystitis, and it has been shown to reduce pain levels in ovariohysterectomies via anti-inflammatory effects.

Never used it, but it's an interesting theory.

Ranitidine has been shown to reduce t cell populations in rhinitis cases.

RE: Nebulising a dog with inflammatory rhinitis

Really?
