'Eating well', as described by the owner, often just means 'trying to eat for hours but achieving very little'. If it was eating well but hardly pooing, such as with a structure, megacolon or partial obstruction, it would have popped and be pushing up daisies by now.

I'd be checking bloods and rads too as there could certainly be other issues related to the urine scald, especially WRT renal failure and bladder sludge/uroliths.

Good luck.

RE: Rabbit not passing poo - chronic obstruction?
Teeth - incisors straight and equal not ridged, ventral margin mandible bowing ventrally, on otoscopic exam (limited as chewing head vigorously) very long ventral molar arcades with lingual spurs and some evidence of bruising to the tongue.
Well, there's your problem, squire.

Well, no, possibly it is not the whole story. But I can't see the rabbit recovering until you have addressed this obvious problem.

RE: Rabbit not passing poo - chronic obstruction?

Any xrays?

RE: Rabbit not passing poo - chronic obstruction?

Just been reading about megacolon in rabbits - could it be this?
I am surprised about the teeth too but I believe the owner - she is a student nurse.

RE: Rabbit not passing poo - chronic obstruction?
My concern is that this is highly suggestive of obstruction, likely to be physical not medical, such as strictures, adhesions, neoplasia. Rec further invs such as x-ray and ex lap.

BUT I am not a rabbit expert by any means and said I would seek yet another opinion. Apparently I am the first person to look in this rabbits mouth because 'all it's problems are the other end'!!!!!
I would have similar concerns to you, and I am a also a little surprised that no other vet has looked in its mouth (if what the owners report is true). Would checking blood glucose be useful to distinguish between stasis and a physical obstruction?
