Many people are using implants to temporarily neuter Jills. It is important to note that it is not licensed for this use.

Delvosterone is a licensed product. However as I understand it the bottle has to be discarded after the first broach.

After discussion with the client (including that of costs), all 3 options are on the table. There has been a link shown to neutering and the age of onset of hyperadrenocorticism in ferrets. In real terms I do not see huge amounts of HAC personally. I believe that the incidence varies between countries so there may be other factors involved. As the treatment for HAC is an implant anyway, the option of spey is still there imo.

So you can implant (prior to the season starting ideally), or use delvosterone or spey. Its important that Jills do not stay in oestrus so a vasectomised hob may probably be the cheapest and easiest long term option.

RE: Suprelorin in jills

Or vasectomised hob
