I guess "hypochlorous technology" sounds better for marketing than "the hypochlorite ion as found in every bottle of Milton not to mention household bleach"

Advantage would be less risk of encouraging resistance to one of the most important antimicrobial compounds in human healthcare (chlorhexidine), or one of the most important groups of systemic anti-fungals in human health-care (azoles) by splashing those chemicals all over a dogs skin repeatedly.

Obvious disadvantage is if made up to wrong concentration (and if shaken in owners eyes by dog etc) can be quite irritating to say the least...

Hypochlorous acid very trendy, eg vetericyn / microcyn etc. - advantage is products marketed for use in pets, disadvantage being more expensive and probably no more effective than regular bleach diluted at home...

RE: Bleach dips and Malassezia/Cocci

This is bleach based and safe to put in eyes (I've used it on myself and it doesn't sting)
