My favourite bone marrow biopsy needle for use in dogs has turned out to be the T-Lok Argon Medical code DBMNJ1104TL 11G 4”

They're not quite as dear as I remembered them (think last one came from VI...)

https://imseuro.co.uk/veterinary/t-lok-bone-marrow-biopsy-needle-11g-x-10-2cm.html

so I'm happy just to get a spare as you suggest.

My main objection to keeping a lot of these things is that I use them so rarely and the EO sterilisation often is out of date by the time one actually needs it if unfortunate.

The last Jamshidi I tried to autoclave was a lot of years ago and it melted spectacularly - I hadn't tried one again until this week and was pleasantly surprised :-)

RE: Re-using bone marrow biopsy needle - how many times?

My personal view with such things is make sure you have a brand new spare and see what happens. Some things don't autoclave as well as you think they will until you come to re-use them. Otherwise keep going with it
