Thanks all! Yes n acetylcysteine-don't normally do annoying shorthand like a millenial so apologies!! In a webinar they mentioned 600mg UID then seemed to amend it to 60mg UID orally. Thinking likely 600mg as this seems to be how it comes...

Wish I had known about the Vetruus one. Just dispensed Trizaural laced with Dex. Thanks for the heads up!

I recall a lecture at London Vet Show where it was described for use topically at concentrations from 0.5% to 4% (IIRC) as an adjunctive soak for management of pseudomonas biofilms in chronic otitis externa / media in dogs.

vetruus do an ear cleaner with Nacteylcysteine in it called TrisNAG. Lovely product really helps with pseudomonas to clean & clear it up.

I've only heard of it being used topically in ear canals rather than systemically [not saying isn't done, just i'm not aware of it]. e.g. in ear flushes where biofilm suspected or for general bactericidal properties. Can mix with something like otodine for cleaning at home also I believe. I believe it is fine in middle ear flushes, but dont quote me on that and double check elsewhere before using as i have no personal experience!
