 i have a 1 yo entire female rabbit with a mucosal rectal prolapse. Have any of you managed one of these before. Ha e used meloxicam and topical flamazine but no change. Seems bright and eating otherwise.

I&amp;#39;ve seen a handful of cases in rabbits and chinchillas and they present with irregular nodular mucosa protruding intermittently and gradually resolve over weeks to months.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Even if true prolapse I would be reluctant to pursue surgical options given the lack of clinical signs as obstipation or loss of mucosal integrity could be catastrophic. Worth reviewing caecotroph appearance and parasitology and see if there is a low grade enteritis causing this. Topical treatments may cause overgrooming and lead to persistence of inflammation so try stopping the flamazine if it hasn&amp;#39;t helped so far.&lt;/p&gt;
