Strange specific but very limited survey in my opinion anyway?

Thanks you - I would really to speak to people with completely different views on rabbits - those that are really interested in them and those that would rather not see them and everything in between. As I said before the study is about decision making in relation to a rabbit with fly strike, not about the knowledge of rabbit medicine. I'm interested in finding out how people decide on treating or not treating.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Yes, I agree that it is difficult to get half an hour in practice. The study has gone through any different formats - originally it was an online short survey - but the advice from researchers was that it needed to be more in depth - hence speaking to people for more than 5 minutes. I agree this will put people off. But maybe this just highlights why clinical research is difficult. Working in practice doesn't generally leave a lot of time for other things. Thank you all for your comments - you have given me some good points to think about with regard to carrying out research in practice.

I've just had a look. I'm afraid the thing that puts me off is the "short telephone interview of half an hour!" I am never on the phone for more than 5 minutes, even to my best friends, as I hate it! Sorry, I thought it might be e-mail/ survey based. I would struggle to find 30 minutes to myself for a phone call!

Trouble is with rabbits there will be mainly referrals, now, and that will be the only decision made.

[Oh dear, I know there are vets interested in rabbits but then you will get mainly specialised opinions]

Will skew any decision making data thus making the project spurious, IMHO.

I'm interested though, because i think there have been very major changes in the last 25odd years.

No, not really (I think of them as edible vermin, but that's a different story). The decision making is boringly simple with a minute number of drugs licenced for bunnies. I know how frustrating getting participants can be and if it was a GP dog scenario then I would have offered to take part. Yes rabbits put me off.

[we also hardly every see them in the practice]

Why? Do you not like rabbits? This could be really good angle to the study. Would it have been better if I had decided to look at cats or dogs?
