Since qualifying 25 years ago, I still don't think I'm any good at making decisions, but I'm really interested in how other vets go about making decisions regarding work up and treatment. Do you have standard procedures in your practice, are you guided by your colleagues, how do you decide when you should call it a day on a case?
It would have helped me if you'd mentioned "rabbits fly strike" and defined "a case" in the opening paragraph.....

Strange specific but very limited survey in my opinion anyway?

RE: General practitioners wanted

Thanks you - I would really to speak to people with completely different views on rabbits - those that are really interested in them and those that would rather not see them and everything in between. As I said before the study is about decision making in relation to a rabbit with fly strike, not about the knowledge of rabbit medicine. I'm interested in finding out how people decide on treating or not treating.

RE: General practitioners wanted

Thank you everyone for your comments. Yes, I agree that it is difficult to get half an hour in practice. The study has gone through any different formats - originally it was an online short survey - but the advice from researchers was that it needed to be more in depth - hence speaking to people for more than 5 minutes. I agree this will put people off. But maybe this just highlights why clinical research is difficult. Working in practice doesn't generally leave a lot of time for other things. Thank you all for your comments - you have given me some good points to think about with regard to carrying out research in practice.

RE: General practitioners wanted
[Oh dear, I know there are vets interested in rabbits but then you will get mainly specialised opinions]

Will skew any decision making data thus making the project spurious, IMHO.

I'm interested though, because i think there have been very major changes in the last 25odd years.

RE: General practitioners wanted

Thanks Michael,

No, not really (I think of them as edible vermin, but that's a different story). The decision making is boringly simple with a minute number of drugs licenced for bunnies. I know how frustrating getting participants can be and if it was a GP dog scenario then I would have offered to take part. Yes rabbits put me off.

[we also hardly every see them in the practice]

RE: General practitioners wanted
I'm a UK grad and I'd like to take part (but not had a chance to read link yet).
