My understanding is that iron deficiency doesn&#39;t really happen in dogs unless they have external blood loss. I know inflammation can reduce the availability of iron reserves, but would supplementation be helpful, or would it just increase the amount of iron the bone marrow can&#39;t use?</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
