Sorry for lack of initial info.

HR was 148/minute and resp rate 30/minute when being examined in consult room. Pulses feel wnls.

I couldn't hear a murmur (doesn't mean there isn't one there, but would be confident in saying nothing 3/6 or more)

The ventricles don't seem to contract properly, and the left atrium looks huge, so I'm thinking likely DCM and coughing from left atrium pressing on airways?

Was started on pimobendan and given some butorphanol which settled the coughing nicely in short-term at least.

Will probably start on some furosemide also.

Has had a history of intermittent collapse for a large number of years - get a fair number of ARVC locally, so could have been that or not. heart rhythm normal sinus on auscultation in short period of examination (<5mins)

I'm afraid that the dogs chest was not really compatible with my ultrasound machine (bad workman and all that...): this is all I have:

I'm not seeing any evidence of a tumour on these films and I agree with others that the heart looks big, I'd want an echo on this dog.

Can you perhaps describe what you are seeing/concerned about, and where? That way it is easier to comment on.

Any information on clinical examination - heart rate, rhythm, murmur, respiratory rate and effort, any recent weight loss etc?

I'd agree - suspect there's a degree of left atrial enlargement, and there is increased sternal contact.

Might be worth an echo.

RE: Primary lung tumour or not?

Anything on auscultation?
