Plan is:
Acid etch teeth, rinse, dry with air.

Also the mandibles and canines tend to pivot on the wire or nylon.

The "spreader" method sounds better as it shouldn't miss-align the canines in any plane?

RE: Bonding cats teeth (#/disloc jaw)

I've done 50lb nylon leader line technique before (worked well for me, but obviously depends on specifics of case).

Cross-ref for technique to this thread: https://www.vetsurgeon.org/veterinary-clinical/small-animal/dentistry/f/163/p/20974/126565.aspx#126565

Norman's technique sounds really nice, guess advantage to me of the "BEARD" was I have 50lb nylon leader line on the shelf and can just do it and get on with it rather than ordering things.

RE: Bonding cats teeth (#/disloc jaw)

Norman's system sounds simplest and I will use that next time, although this time I will have to use the materials I've ordered. A human dentist helped me on Sat using some glue in a small tube and the repair didn't last 24 hours so we will see.

Cat already has a well tollerated osophagostomy tube.

RE: Bonding cats teeth (#/disloc jaw)
We use temporary crown composite such as MaxiTemp and place it in a cut down plastic straw premeasured to be sure there is at least 5mm and no more than 10mm between the incisor...
When it comes off after healing excellent bonding now might means broken teeth later.

We use temporary crown composite such as MaxiTemp and place it in a cut down plastic straw premeasured to be sure there is at least 5mm and no more than 10mm between the incisor. Too small a gap they can’t lap and too big, they can’t swallow.

Fill the straw segments and place the upper and lowes canines in either end simultaneously. The composite sets in a minute os so and you can tidy up any excess.

Most cats can be fed liquid type foods carefully through gap. An alternative is a feeding tube. There is a risk of choke and at home the owner will have to be taught to break the bond if needed. I have done hundreds and never had a cat choke but I know people who have had it happen.

RE: Bonding cats teeth (#/disloc jaw)

I considered using a similar technique for such a case a while back using the beard technique - a means of wiring the jaw shut. The reason I didn't do it was I wasn't sure what would happen if the cat vomited.
