It was tachycardic in the consultation and the rhythm was irregular. My colleague started the dog on vetmedin and frusemide and took this ecg a few days later at which point the dog

RE: What is the diagnosis on this ECG?

I can see some P waves as well so this looks like bradycardia/tachycardia form of sick sinus syndrome. Where there is a normal looking P wave a QRS does usually follow so I don't think there is a concurrent AV block.

RE: What is the diagnosis on this ECG?

In an ideal world ( which it isn't ) I'd like to see a longer Lead 2 trace with less artifact but with type of dog and history with long periods of sinus arrest alternating with supraventricular tachycardia I would be considering sick sinus syndrome. Sadly.

RE: What is the diagnosis on this ECG?

I would have said supraventricular tachycardia - the R-R intervals look too regular to me to be AF. And AF sounds classically jungle-drum with variable pulses, which is pretty classic on auscultation. Not sure what's happening during the long pauses - I'm presuming there was no association with respiratory rate as as a HR of 250 sounds way too high to have any degree of sinus arrhythmia.

It also looks like there are P waves to me, in certain leads (red circles below), but too soon after the QRST to be part of a normally conducted complex.
