Can I please get your opinions on this footpad/ interdigital lesion? 4 y/o whippet, no lameness, reacts (pulls foot away) when palpated - however he does this with all his feet so I don’t feel this is a reliable sign of pain. I noticed

RE: Whippet - interdigital lesion
I will look into an incisional biopsy with histopath to rule out anything malignant.
It was difficult to photograph as right down between the footpad and digit. There is a raised area which looks ‘warty’ on the footpad and some associated inflammation between the pad and digit. I will look into an incisional biopsy with histopath to rule out anything malignant.

RE: Whippet - interdigital lesion
FNA, in my opinion would be disappointing as unlikely to be that cellular
Agreed - FNA would probably be a few confused mesenchymal cells and unlikely to be diagnostic. Unless it pops and proves to be a cyst. You might be lucky and be able to diagnose a histiocytoma or mast cell tumour from FNA alone, but anything other than that would likely come back as inconclusive. And I've not seen either inter digitally - others may correct here if they have! I don't think this is a corn as not on a pressure point, and it looks most like a wart. Probably benign, but only histopath will tell.

RE: Whippet - interdigital lesion

Tough to see especially the second picture

If it has a narrow base, I'd remove it and possibly histology the mass. 4y/o dog, on the foot, more likely to be benign. Yes ideally histology everything....

If a wider base, maybe biopsy taking a small piece first

FNA, in my opinion would be disappointing as unlikely to be that cellular
