I'm not entirely sure the data for the licensed meloxicam dose is massively supported by lots of data; it seems they picked a dose and measured feeding behaviour as a surrogate marker of pain?

There is a discretionary clause saying up to 0.5mg/kg sid.

I routinely use this dose bid.

Broken bones add methadone

Thank you! About the meloxicam dose in guinea pigs, until the licensed Metacam came out, I used 0.5mg/kg SID or BID and this was for post-soft tissue surgery like castration or spay. Would this dose be appropriate for such surgery or only for very, very painful things like broken bones?
