I bet they are confusing the reader. It does happen.

Some older microchip cat flaps could not cope with the biothermo chips because they send out two signals.

Not sure I could get two chips so closely together if I tried!

Xrayed, 2 chips side by side, neither reading.......

planning to rechip but maybe more caudally?? to prevent any possible interference

Cat is coming in next week for xray to check if can see 1 or more chips and to double check they aren't scanning.

contacted the chip manufacturers and they said the have tested and no interference. So interesting to know.

yep; call me Mr Cynical if you like, but I would be inclined to disbelieve it until I could see 2 microchips on a radiograph. Clients often are mistaken, or in a few cases are trying to pull a fast one in some way (Although not sure how they could be in this case?)

[/quote]Wot he says. We had a client whose cat went missing and when it came back they brought it in for a check up we scanned it and found a chip that was registered to someone else locally. It wasn't their cat.

Tried 2 scanners and 2 different people.

Owner has had cat 2 years, am sure it is the same cat.

I wondered if 2 chips would interfere. That's what worries me about sticking another one in!

Have you tried another scanner?

There has been talk of chips interfering with each other if close together. I have no experience of this!

I agree the breeder (or implanter) is the one to contact as they did a duff job!
