Yes I think you’re right Gillian. We managed to not run out last year (just) but I’m sure our MSD rep said they would fund any L4 restarts required.

We've been giving the 2nd L4 for free...i assume nobivac are the ones paying...???

The point was more to emphasise that this is hardly off-licence - they are given a choice.

I thought the L4 required a primary course of 2 injections 4 weeks apart....so surely you are not providing protection against the other 2 serovars. That is not a problem as they should be covered for the L2 bits, but I don't think you should be implying to clients that they have full L4 protection without giving a primary course.

I really can't see why there is an issue. If you have a dog that comes in for a booster which had another brand of vaccine at their previous vet do you get them to sign an off-licence for that. You are in danger of over-thinking this.

If a dog has had 2 injections of L4 4weeks apart previously in life, would a single injection of L4 not be sufficient to stimulate required immunity?
