Very compliant but for some reason owner unable to clean. Had multiple sessions of cleaning in hospital

RE: Ceruminous discharge in cat ears

Also,in answer to your question, no topicals routinely used because of this issue.

RE: Ceruminous discharge in cat ears

Hi Martin, Done in-house. And considering because of duration of action. Watched last week's webinar on medicating cats and all taken in to account ( cat temperament- very good; owner disabilities: none). Basically I think it is just that the owner has convinced herself that she cannot manage this cat. We treat. The hospital practice treats. The cattery treats. No issue.

I'm quite a good people person but there's no going forward with this client. If we could administer every 3 weeks...?

Any of the potent human CCS lotions or ointment always worked for me, after most success with Panolog [sob, now gone].

Only used injectables if canal had no secretion but was swollen and red.

it was a common presentation in the days before "systemic" ear-mite control.

Don't think I ever needed any surgery on these in a cat.

"Ears" were >7% of consults back in the day; doubt if they are that much now with systemic ear-mite killers?

Decent review here

What systemic cst? Depo is a good choice I find for these.

Otherwise lateral wall resection can help with aerating the horizontal canals. Otherwise TECA.
