Only ever used Doppler before so unsure on pros and cons. We are mobile and this unit will likely be sturdier

RE: Blood pressure monitoring

PS do you think you need to account for white coat effect and do multiple readings with HDO over several hours? We are housecall so it would be really helpful to us if we could sit outside for 10 minutes and leave owner and cat alone and get accurate readings.

RE: Blood pressure monitoring

I'm liking the look of HDO. I personally like that you can do a BP measurement with a HDO with very little hands on. Can leave the cat with the owner in a consult room while it goes through the cycle and repeats tests so you can quickly get multiple readings.

I was however working at a clinic that used to have a HDO but went back to Doppler - I think the nurses weren't happy with it as it wasn't as accurate.

RE: Blood pressure monitoring

Thank you!
Essentially direct BP best but impractical, doppler shown to correlate well with direct, older oscillometric units less accurate in conscious cats than doppler, HD-oscillometric units perform better. So either doppler or HDO
