Tightly held Chinese Government secret apparently.We have used the tea and the capsules but not the spray on cats and dogs. We don't have the extra ball on the bottles here described below-it really is a fascinating product-this was from another listserve last year :

" You can use it on every bleeding lesion topically. Very important: Use the original powder! from China in every pharmacy, but forbidden to export. There´s a little ball of that powder on top of the powder in the bottle. If you cut yourself or get Shot, you eat it the ball as an emergency-pil..! Ask Vietnam War Veterans, Some know that, too ;).

You can make a spray by yourself, as it is described in the manual of the powder. If it´s for any bleeding use with boiled water and if it´s not bleeding anymore (=stagnation blood) can use with red wine and spray on wound".

It was highly recommended in my BSAVA certificate ECC course.

No exact dose though.

I have used it topically with good success.

I keep seeing this herb being suggested by posts on a US forum and get the impression it is widely used over there. I'd be interested to know if anyone is this country is using it, or knows more about it!

What is its mechanism of action? Especially as you imply that it works topically and systemically?

Hi Aine,

there is zero evidence to guide this and equally depending where you source this from there is massive variation between batches etc.

the dose that is described for cats is a quarter of a capsule per cat every 8-12 hours but I make no guarantees of safety or what that is based on!
