He was better by day of appointment- nad on clinical exam inc teeth; eyes and nose completely dry and clean

RE: Rabbit Bordetella

Thanks will give that a go. From memory I think one of the other vets in the practice was getting an O to inject a bunny for something or other with Depocillin rather than using oral abs so I could ask her about that. And will check out nebuliser idea.

RE: Rabbit Bordetella

Yes you can (Bisolvon). A pinch twice daily (how scientific :))))

I would also nebulise in a chamber that the owners can make. that will loosen the secretions.

I like hypertonic saline as it dissolves the mucus biofilm very well (many bacteria live within this) allowing better antibiotic penetration.

Have to say if I had this case and sensitivity to penicillin I would inject for a month and see what happens.

Likely though is that there is a degree of atropic rhinitis causing terbinate destruction hence why long term getting a rabbit used to be nebuliser really helps.

Hope that helps :)

RE: Rabbit Bordetella

Just bumping this as I'm back to work tomorrow and have to think of a plan. If well in himself I'm planning on staying off abs. Can you give rabbits Bisolvon does anyone know? If the snot is thick.
