In Lancashire you've got:

Chestergates. Used to be very good for neurology, now their neuro cases are seen by medics and the surgery is done by the ortho surgeons. CVS practice, they are on the RSA approved referral centre list and often now have fixed prices for things.

Liverpool Uni - Good, can sometimes be difficult to get an emergency appointment with them but clients that have been there speak highly of them. Can be a bit slow to get reports back to the referring vet.

North West Veterinary Specialists - Good. Big neuro team there now and during the week can accept emergency cases readily, can be a bit hit and miss at weekends. My friend's dachshund had a hemilaminectomy performed on New Years Day though so if needed they get someone in. I find NWS very approachable, and they usually ring back for advice reasonably quickly, post-op reports come back within a reasonable time frame (not always very quick but on the most part).

Rutland House Referrals have an MRI machine, but no neurologists.

Kentdale up in the lakes have an MRI machine, mainly do ortho but have done spinal surgery in the past.

As far as I am aware Chestergates don't yet have a neurologist...although they have been looking so hopefully I'm wrong.

Liverpool Uni are good for neuro.

I recently had a dog treated (surgically) by Donald Sheahan at Dogwood Vets, Sale for lumbosacral disc issues and I was really impressed, so would be happy to recommend them for neurology/neurosurgery.

I agree.. Pip and Rachel were great and will be missed. As far as I am aware he is taking time out and concentrating on his martial arts.

Not any more. He left the AMC a few months after they sold to Medivet.

Sad times, liked him, he did a great job with my mother's lab. What neuro is close to Lancs then? Isn't there a group in Yorkshire, Wakefield way? Or is it Chestergates?

Not any more. He left the AMC a few months after they sold to Medivet.

Although not Lancashire there’s North West Veterinary Specialists in Frodsham. Chester Gates in Chester. Liverpool uni on the Wirral. not aware of anyone offering neuro referrals in Lancashire
