I have a vague idea in the back of my head about using them more regularly in peri-operative analgesia, currently use them in ortho ops etc

RE: Lidocaine / ketamine CRIs
In general, yes. But also some that are not supplied in brown bottles such as metronidazole for injection and Dimazon (frusemide for injection)!!!

RE: Lidocaine / ketamine CRIs
But if you know how much fluid volume they received (carefully measured eg by pump, rather than just eyeballing the bag!) then you know how much ketamine each patient receives (presuming adequate mixing). So therefore it's the same as taking a dose from a multi-use vial?

My understanding also was that in the CD register the drugs needed to be dispensed to a named patient? Any unused in the infusion bag can be dealt with as patient-returned drugs, but not sure this can be returned 'to stock'?

RE: Lidocaine / ketamine CRIs

Are drugs supplied in brown bottles light sensitive?

RE: Lidocaine / ketamine CRIs
Ketamine is for an individual named patient so you might run into issues sharing this with others.
