Yes there is roller artefact but I would also want to rule out the curvilinear metal densities on the rhs of the first view. Heavy metal toxicosis causes gi neuropraxia.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This is a perfectly good if not excellent differential and outside the experience of many of the UK based vets on the site.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It is a parasite found in India (been Googling!) and can cause oesophageal pathology including megoesophagus.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Will claim a bit of CPD as a result of the OP and Anon!!&lt;/p&gt;

I would consider bloods for T4/TSH, basal cortisol (or full ACTH stim) and myasthenia testing. In the interim instigate postural feeding and antcid therapy. Was the patient sedated - even if so the degree of oesophageal dilation for me is too much to be drug induced.&lt;/p&gt;
