I am not sure if there is a veterinary version , probably udder cream.
Any chance this dog has sub-clinical urinary incontinence (be that anatomical or functional)? That tends to be a major contributing factor to vaginitis in the adult dogs I see with that condition. Often suspected if the vaginitis is primarily confined to caudal of the urethral meatus (this can be assessed with cystoscopy).

So I tend to make sure no potential anatomical cause and then perhaps consider trial of phenylpropanolamine.

I have had some success with probiotics in chronic vaginitis cases so agree that can be an option.

No recurrences as yet. Well tolerated by a total wuss of a dog. He is mildly incontinent with suspected atopy issues amongst other problems, so a little similar!
What about a long term oral probiotic product? Protexin have a canine urinary product which includes a probiotic, or you could just go for something like enterogenic or fortiflora? My understanding of the principle behind it is most of the bacteria in the lower urinary tract are faecal in origin, so might be worth trying to out compete the nastier ones? Not sure it will be enough in an acute flare but worth considering for long term management??
