&lt;p&gt;I am not aware of the up to date papers that that you seek. However, as a rule, these cases should be staged in the normal way: lymph nodes and lungs are the sites of greatest interest. In cats, please note that thoracic radiography has poor sensitivity for detecting mets. I prefer CT by a mile. In the absence of evidence of metastasis, excision of the primary +/- the regional lymph node, followed by the (unlicensed) Oncept Melanoma Vaccine appears, in my experience, to be remarkably effective.&lt;/p&gt;
