Ironically, just after musing this morning that I should really have bought that cardiac probe I promised myself when I originally bought the ultrasound, I've now had another case today where we needed to have a look

RE: Interesting cardiac case!

How interesting, and well found!

RE: Interesting cardiac case!

Definitely won't recoup the money, but I've got a bit of enthusiasm for it after this case- for my own interest/ enjoyment really!

RE: Interesting cardiac case!
Apparently these intracardiac tumours are extremely rare. So there you go!

Definitely looking to either but a cardiac probe or even just upgrade the whole machine now!
When my venerable old free ex NHS ultrasound machine died a few years back I decided not to re-invest in a new one. Being a quiet sole-charge practice I could not justify it. I flirted with the idea last year and had a demo (I confess largely so the nurses could tick the boxes on their nurse training ultrasound module) but decided once again that the amount of use I'd get from it did not justify the expense, especially as I'm procrastinating over retirement, and for the odd occasion I have no alternative means of diagnosis its better to refer or get the peripatetic ultrasonographer to call like you did.
