I have a shotgun pellet in my body somewhere (which I was unaware of until I had some survey radiographs...!). They absolutely 100% will not let me in the same room as the MRI machine in the hospital. It's not magnetic itself, but it is attracted to magnets. Mine was supplied with a neodymium magnet, which on their own I imagine would pass okay, but if swallowed with anything else metallic are possibly lethal - especially if they pass into the intestine at different times.

If the putty was swallowed with or without the magnet I have no idea if it'd pass okay - silly putty is weird stuff - quite soft and pliable but still a thick lump for the intestine to deal with. It might be softer at body temperature.

I'd probably xray to assess whether different parts of the intestine were being stuck together, then assess as any other foreign body - i.e. intervene if it seems to be a problem otherwise assess daily until passed.

It's fairly boring as a toy.

RE: Magnetic putty

Hope you've checked the delivery date Bob! several of the Amazon ones are for delivery after Christmas.

If it's the latter is probably harmless, if it's the former it may well not be magnetic enough to be a huge danger.
