What microscope would you recommend?

I contacted a local microscope servicing company who are used by the local university. They had a good quality Leitz Laborlux 11 for a reasonable price. They service it twice a year so the immersion oil doesn't gum up the X100 objective.

If you're not in a great rush do some digging for an older German one. Zeiss, Leica etc Optically superior to anything modern. I have a Zeiss and love it. Maybe don't look at their new prices...
