&lt;p&gt;i don&amp;#39;t look at ratio exactly but if the magnitude of elevation of urea is greater than creat (e.g. Urea of 40 (4 X upper ref) and creat of 259 (1.5 x upper ref)) then I assume there is likely a pre renal component &amp;nbsp;(dehydration vs gastric bleed). Obviously USg and total solids etc should be looked at concurrently&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
