Replacement blood pressure unit.

Our blood pressure machine (oscillometric) machine for cats has just gone up in smoke after nearly 15 years.
We thought it was the future of blood pressure monitoring at the time but clearly the Thames Medical type machines are more favoured!

My anaesthetist friend prefers the Parks unit, but they're more pricey
We bought (and I prefer) the Huntleigh Vet Doppler over the Thames as the actual probe is a lot smaller footprint

RE: On a spending spree! I honestly can't remember the cost but all we got with it was a range of cuffs, I can't see what else you would need to use it on a cat.

RE: On a spending spree!
I assume the price difference is because accessories come with the 'cat' machine.

RE: On a spending spree!
Depending who you listen to doppler reads 10-15 mmHg lower than real BP in cats but oscillometric is even less reliable. We have the latter on the capnograph but I haven't actually compared the two on the same animal at the same time. That is now on my to-do list.
