we have had a client book a raccoon dog in for vaccinations and microchip. Does anyone have any information about what they should be getting?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

Quite nice animals and usefully are internally just like dogs but with lovely loose ovarian ligaments- perhaps this highly endearing characteristic should be crossbred into domestic dogs

RE: Raccoon dogs vaccinations
The owners were aware of the invasive species thing and are planning to have him castrated.
Good for them , but I can't help thinking that most of the people who are daft enough to want a wild animal like this as a pet are also daft enough to think "oh, I'm sure we'll be able to keep him in all the time and besides, neutering is SO unnatural!"

Maybe it's just me

Apparently he was just so terrified that he didn't move at all and just urinated on the table so from a handling point of view was fine. Possibly not so fine from the point of view of suitability as a pet but I suppose that is another story...

The owners were aware of the invasive species thing and are planning to have him castrated.

thanks again

Haven't needed to do rabies vaccines though.

Worth discussing with the owner that they have been proposed as an addition to the list of invasive alien species so breeding/sale/rehoming will be banned in the near future if they are accepted.

Oh yes, sorry, there was a thread about raccoon dogs a month or two back, I knew that really.

They seem to be the latest in a long line of pose-value posessions and are unsuitable to be kept as domestic pets.

Sorry, can't help with vaccine requirements though
