The rabbit is about 3.5 months old, not any specific breed (not a giant but not a dwarf), weighs 1.9kg. Do I need to worry about cartilage

RE: Fluoroquinolones in rabbit

In rabbits the recommended dosage is 5 mg/kg twice daily for baytril. there have been studies showing that rabbits are more resistant to changes to synovial joints than dogs yet it does happen.

I also give ciprofloxacin to bunnies, yet my protocol when baytril does not work for a week would be azithromycin for 10 days plus nebulization with bisolvon and genta, which seems to work well. In theory the go-to ab when u begin tx should be depocillin inj, yet it has been showed that pasteurella nowadays is quite resistant to penicillin, plus with resp infections in bunnies u want aggressive tx from the very start as the longer the infection gets established the more diff it gets to go symptomless - as again u never really eradicate the infection-.

I have used azithromycin orally for respiratory disease in rabbits if we are talking alternatives.

RE: Fluoroquinolones in rabbit

Depending on C&S results consider alternatives.
