Yeah I know Liz Welsh, used to work at Vets Now Glasgow as an ECC clinician, she's amazing.

Owner turned out to be a bit raging. Dog was actually quite healthy for a Frenchie but her left patella was luxating grade 2 (the scale was provided with the forms) and she wanted me to amend the forms as she "Couldn't breed her unless she was a grade 0-1)" so tough luck she was told. I got another vet to do a second opinion and she agreed whole-heartedly that it was at least a grade 2. The owner then became raging and said she was going to breed from her any way and that the "rules change all the time as to what is acceptable for patella luxation". Her husband then piped in with "if dogs like her weren't bred from then you guys would be out of a job" which is an interesting standpoint to take when you're claiming to want to breed a healthy dog then become annoyed and told not to breed when told she isn't 100% healthy. Ach well! Will try and avoid doing any more of these in the future!

RE: Has anyone done a "Silver Health check" for French Bulldog?

For breeding purposes, I'd be very wary of genetic test results not taken by a vet who has scanned the dogs chip and ties the sample to that dog; this is a requirement of many breed clubs to go on any genetic register for breeding

I was totally panicking that I would have to invent a scale of noses and breathing! The form was pretty self explanatory and was all quite easy, apart from getting the nurse to run around the garden with the dog whilst I watched!
I've done of these at silver level. It was actually fairly self explanatory.

The genetic testing was done via mouth swab and the owner organised that herself - that seemed a little odd to me be she was happy and I didnt have to sign anything for that bit anyway.

The examination testing I did in clinic. the form she brought me was fairly self explanatory with grading systems and she also had the French bulldog clubs grading system with photos of noses etc for grading or nostrils. I did have to get her to run around our carpark for 10 mins to check her breathing but luckily it was a nice day and not raining!

Hope that helps.
