&lt;p&gt;Ringworm also another differential and easily ruled in or out with culture.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;They are a very intelligent and social species so isolation can cause overgrooming or self mutilation. If no medical cause is found then castration and adding to a female group may be the best option.&lt;/p&gt;
