Not fun, but does give a one-stop solution.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Otherwise take your pick of suggested drugs you&amp;#39;ve mentioned, keep nails trimmed short atraumatically, and use topical antiseptics.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If quite acute, I&amp;#39;d go medical and heavy-handed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If chronic, I&amp;#39;d haed for surgery.&lt;/p&gt;

They were on them for a good long while and did all get to the stage of having stubby deformed nails but not painful shedding. It&amp;#39;s hard to know if the treatment helped or if it was tincture of time!
