I'm not sure where to go forwards with this one, so any help would be appreciated! This is a twelve year old female spayed Shar Pei X Pyranese Moutain dog who has recently reluctant to exercise.
No pupd, vomiting or diarrhoea, though

RE: Odd peripheral swelling in a Shar Pei Cross
Agree with looking for a possible mass lesion elsewhere; however, the previous cases of hypertrophic osteopathy I've seen have had stonking periosteal bony proliferation and not much in the way of soft tissue changes. Perhaps this is an early case (ones that come to pathologists tend to be end-stage, for obvious reasons). I think biopsy would be a reasonable step but I would think there is a chance of just getting non-specific chronic reactive changes showing up.

RE: Odd peripheral swelling in a Shar Pei Cross
To me it doesn't because Marie Bamberger disease is characterised by periosteal reaction, which these radiographs don't show.
To me it doesn't because Marie Bamberger disease is characterised by periosteal reaction, which these radiographs don't show. This looks and sounds much more like Sharpei fever (whatever that is really) which is usually reasonably successfully treated with NSAIDs.
