&lt;p&gt;They are really common in hamsters, and not cystitis.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I dealt with a &amp;nbsp;hamster breeder a number of years ago who showed them all over the UK and operated on quite a few of them. They all did well&lt;/p&gt;

I&amp;#39;d be tempted to do a quick xray to rule out radioopaque stones but uterine neoplasia is common enough to justify an ex-lap. They aren&amp;#39;t complicated surgeries - just like a mini bitch spay. I find using haemoclips on the ovaries a bit easier than ligating as you don&amp;#39;t need as good access to the pedicle but definitely a surgery you can do if you can spay a dog and have good eyesight!&lt;/p&gt;
