I had a weird case that i followed about a dog with GI signs. Dog, 3 years, no vacines or deworming. Blood in faeces and vomiting. Episodes of fever. After basic GI treatment the dog had some major improvement, but once in a while a vomit or a diarrhea

RE: Ideas?

Sorry to hear the outcome (I'm assuming from what you've written that he didn't survive?)

Sounds like a strange case with the sudden deterioration, so easy to see why blood tests etc. might not have been thought necessary at the time.

I did however a HTC when the animal started losing blood trough the coughing- htc normal range, but after 2 CPR he couldnt make it.

Some blood work at that time and clotting parameters would be a good choice yes

Angiostrongylus Vasorum..maybe...there was not any cardiac arrest however, but that foamy pulmonar secretions so suddenly.....hummm

RE: Ideas?

More to the south.
Do you have angiostrongylus in your region?

[/quote]

Lungworm was my first thought too. Sounds like there was a severe coagulopathy going on, did you run any bloods? (Would be interesting to see the results if you did). Full haem/biochem plus clotting parameters and Angiostrongylus testing would be first on my list. In the meantime I'd treat for lungworm anyway, even if it's not common in your area.

RE: Ideas?

aerophagia secondary to dyspnoea?

RE: Ideas?

Do you have angiostrongylus in your region?

RE: Ideas?

Do you have angiostrongylus in your region?
